Exact price confirmed in writing before any work begins. Every job includes our three-tier written warranty.
This calculator provides an estimate for budgeting. Actual pricing depends on specific pool conditions and is always quoted in writing before any work begins — no obligation, no sales calls. Reflects typical residential pool leak detection pricing across our Tampa Bay & Sarasota service area.
Every diagnostic includes the full workup.
This isn’t a guy with a dye bottle. It’s a systematic, whole-system diagnostic performed by a state-certified specialist — the same eight steps, every time.
Site assessment & history review
Including any prior repair records or existing quotes from other companies.
Visual inspection above water
Equipment pad, deck, surrounding landscape, visible plumbing, and pool structure.
Plumbing identification
Labeling plumbing runs & valves in acrylic paint marker for longevity.
Pressure testing every line
Each line isolated and tested individually — suction side and return side. If a break exists, we pinpoint its location.
Dye testing
Strategic use of leak-detection dye at suspected sources, both above and below water.
Underwater dive inspection
We dive in to assess the shell, tile line, skimmer throat, lights, main drains, returns, and plaster from the inside.
Electronic listening
Where indicated, for pinpointing underground plumbing failures without excavating.
Written finding
A documented report identifying the leak source (or confirming no leak), with photographs and clear next steps.
A typical residential diagnostic takes 1.5–3 hours on site. Commercial diagnostics often take longer. Our written reports run 2–3× more detailed than any other leak company’s — covering current condition and future concerns.
Detection is separate from repair — and that protects you.
Detection is finding the leak. Repair is fixing it. Responsible specialists price them separately, and here’s why that’s in your favor:
Repairs can’t be honestly priced before diagnosis
Before the leak is found, nobody knows what the repair is. A repair price quoted before diagnosis is either wild guessing or worst-case pricing that assumes the most expensive possible fix. Neither is fair to you.
Sometimes there’s no leak at all
Some diagnostics conclude the “leak” is actually normal evaporation, a malfunctioning auto-fill, or heavy splash-out. In those cases the diagnostic fee is your entire cost — and you have a written finding to prove it.
Minor fixes happen on the spot
When the leak turns out to be minor, we complete the repair during the same visit — typically just $5–$65 on top of the detection cost. Major repairs are always quoted in writing before any work begins.
Two pricing tricks to watch out for.
We’d rather you hire a competitor with honest pricing than fall for these. Here’s what to avoid, whoever you call:
Extreme low quotes ($149, $199, etc.)
A full diagnostic with the specialized equipment and labor described above cannot be profitably performed at these prices. It’s either not a full diagnostic or it’s bait for a repair upsell — expect the repair quote to be inflated to cover the missing margin.
“Free” detection, or the fee waived if you do the repair
That cost is almost always built into the repair quote. Bundling detection into repair also creates a conflict of interest: the company has an incentive to find expensive problems, and you have no independent diagnostic to verify the work.
Already holding a four-figure repair quote?
A second opinion costs a fraction of an unnecessary repair. We’ll confirm the diagnosis — or find you a less invasive alternative. We once fixed for a couple hundred dollars a leak another company had bid over $10,000 to repair.
